Andrew Cliffe

Born in Huddersfield, Andrew attended King James's Grammar School, Almondbury. After qualifying in 1980 with a national firm of Chartered Accountants, Andrew was seconded to their office in Johannesburg where he had two years' audit experience. This was followed by a two year management accountancy post with Rand Mines at one of their larger mines.

After returning to work in the UK in 1984, Andrew worked mainly in smaller practices, gaining experience of smaller businesses whilst continuing to develop his taxation knowledge. In 1991 Andrew formed his own practice with his wife Penny, also a Chartered Accountant, and this now forms part of the Appleton Dale Partnership.

Andrew is in charge of the payroll bureau. This is a comprehensive service which allows clients to have more time to run their businesses efficiently.

Treasurer of Wakefield Table Tennis Association for the past 6 years, Andrew plays in Wakefield and Pontefract leagues
