David Taylor

David Founded the forerunner to the Appleton Dale practice in 1984. Qualifying at the Huddersfield office of an International Practice in 1974, David gained extensive experience of small to medium-sized owner-managed businesses, mainly in West Yorkshire.

After spending two years on secondment in the firm's office in Sydney, Australia, and a short spell on his return to Yorkshire, David was then recruited by a medium-sized national practice to open its offices in Bradford. Here he established the firm's Northern Tax Department, being the partner with responsibility for the tax functions of its Northern offices, with particular emphasis on tax planning and dealing with Inland Revenue investigations.

After 9 years, David decided to use his experience to start up his own practice.

David's outside interests focus mainly on sports, having played soccer and cricket for local clubs and, in more recent years, serving as a Finance Director at two Football League clubs outside the Huddersfield area.
