As a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Accountants since 1989, Stewart had previously trained with the Huddersfield office of one of the UK’s largest practices before moving to a smaller national practice, also in West Yorkshire, which brought greater experience of family businesses and general taxation work.
The next move was to join the forerunners of the present Appleton Dale practice, with several long-standing clients still within the portfolio, retaining the personal approach they had come to prefer.
Outside office hours Stewart is a long-term member (and not surprisingly Treasurer) of Huddersfield Road Runners, although he admits that his key value to the Club is now as a number-cruncher rather than a race points scorer.
